Our Story
A journey from Saigon to Louisville
District 6 began as a dream shared by Chef Nguyen and his wife Mai, who immigrated from Saigon's vibrant District 6 neighborhood in the 1990s. Named after the bustling area known for its incredible street food and warm community spirit, our restaurant brings those same values to Louisville.
What started as a small family operation has grown into a beloved neighborhood institution, but our commitment remains the same: serving authentic Vietnamese dishes made with traditional techniques and the freshest ingredients, just like we learned from our grandmothers back home.
Every bowl of pho is simmered for over 12 hours, every banh mi is made on fresh-baked baguettes, and every dish is prepared with the love and care we'd give our own family. Because to us, every guest is family.
